"I've had a passion for horses since I can remember... and since my mom can remember!"

 

Chia Green owns and operates Ready, Set, Ride! An accomplished equestrian and owner of horses and ponies most of her life, Chia has been operating the pony ride business for over four years.

 

To Chia her greatest achievement "has been to be able to bring horses to the public - to people who have never seen a horse and never thought they would. When I'm downtown Portland or at other city events there is a lot of "horse therapy" that goes on. At times, adults and children, who have never been close up to such a large animal, don't know what to think and can be very frightened. Being able to watch someone calm down and walk away with a huge smile on their face because of a great horse experience is what this is all about for me."

 

Chia studied Equine Science at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming. Currently she owns 6 ponies and 6 horses, two of which she has had for 19 years. Like most equestrians, she loves dogs, too, and is active in dog rescue programs and acts as a foster home while they are being placed.
